To create a rejuvenating space, both physical and emotional, as a brief escape from life’s unconscious conformities, with music and other forms of creative expression serving as a cathartic conduit.
To bring together generations of alumni in a rediscovery of those precious moments that have only grown richer with time: joyful abandonment, intellectual sparring, absurd humor, creative expression, enduring friendships, and the burning curiosity and sense of wonder that defined our formative years.
To celebrate our timeless classic rock legacy with musicians across four decades of graduating classes and their communities of fans.
To foster a renewed sense of connection, belonging, and stewardship, creating opportunities to give back to the IIT-BHU community that shaped us and to support students who will shape its future.

From The Founders

What began as an alumni band during the 2010 IT-BHU convocation became a movement by 2025, with more than a hundred people across the USA, Canada, and Dubai attending the NJ Chapter of DéjàBHU, including musicians across multiple classic rock bands spanning 9 years (88–97) and music lovers who came to watch their favorite bands and reunite with friends.
This year is bigger, with more enthusiasm, anticipation, and participation. Musicians and music lovers across 40 years of batches (1982–2015) and multiple geographies (India, Dubai, all over the USA) are coming together across 8 bands to perform, catch up, and celebrate the enduring legacy of classic rock at IT-BHU.

FIFTY MUSICIANS. THREE COUNTRIES. ONE UNFORGETTABLE WEEKEND.
Bringing together 50 musicians from three different countries for two to three days of classic rock takes an enormous amount of planning and expense — tents, staging, professional sound and lighting equipment, backline, food, drinks, and a hundred other details that make an event of this scale possible.
We simply cannot do this without your help. Every dollar you donate goes directly toward creating the experience we all want — a weekend where the music takes center stage and everything else just works.
Every donation is 100% tax-deductible. Put your yearly donation budget to work — we honestly cannot think of a better place for it to go than forwarding the legacy of music that makes our institute so special. You will be contributing to a cause that will be alive for years to come, something that outlasts all of us.

All donations are managed by the IIT-BHU Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Every donation is fully tax-deductible.
We are deeply grateful to the Foundation for their collaboration in making DéjàBHU possible — we would not be here without their support. And while we come together to celebrate music, we also give back to the Institute that gave us so much. In that spirit, a portion of the event proceeds will be donated to the scholarship endowment run through the Foundation.
